About Studio City for Safe Development.
Studio City for Safe Development is an independent community campaign organized by Alex Staikos and Adele Slaughter.
The campaign supports responsible housing and neighborhood improvements while advocating for stronger attention to emergency evacuation, fire safety, infrastructure and the cumulative effects of major development.
Our current focus is Riverwalk at Studio City and the surrounding Ventura Boulevard corridor.
We examine public records, follow planning decisions and raise concerns about issues we believe deserve greater scrutiny.

One project, one corridor, real stakes.
The campaign formed around Riverwalk at Studio City, a development proposed for the half mile of Ventura Boulevard from Whitsett Avenue to Coldwater Canyon Avenue. The concern is not that Studio City changes. It is that a project of this scale, alongside others on the same constrained corridor, has not been shown to be safe for evacuation, emergency access, the river habitat, and the infrastructure people already depend on.
